This month is Sexy September, and we're calling on all our fans to make it a good one! Something I am ALWAYS hearing something along the lines of, "Why should I bring a vibrator into the bedroom? I do just fine without one." Something else I see a lot is a conviction that the role of a vibrator is to replace the action of a partner -- Not true at all! Here at Pure P, we believe sex toys are a way to complement your sex life -- not a way replacement for some part of it.

Here are some magical things a vibrator can do for you:

  1. Double your orgasms, double your fun. I'm not referring to multiples here, per se. Cranking out an orgasm as part of warmup or foreplay can make for increased enjoyment of successive activities. If you are a vagina owner, pleasuring yourself before play can hasten your arousal and increase the sensitivity of your inner walls, making penetration much more pleasurable. Vibrators can be used as part of foreplay for penis owners, too! A vibrator can be great for stimulating the testicles or tickling a cock into erection. Cock rings that buzz and shake are great for this purpose - Plus, they can be worn during other activities. Set and forget!

  2. Pleasure the sensitive and shy among us. It may be a challenge for a person to have an orgasm, period, let alone in the presence of a partner. In cases like these, a vibrator may be what tips the scales in favor of having that orgasm. A staff favorite, the Magic Wand, is commonly held to make orgasm non-negotiable! Vibrators can play as hard or as long as your gens need to "get in the game." There are specially-designed toys for penises that achieve this, too, but even a simple bullet - Not specifically designed for penis play - can help give your johnson the encouragement it needs.

  3. More fruitful prostate and G-spot play: The G-spot and P-spot, as we call them, are a sort of "white whale" for many orgasmonauts. Whether you are among the 15% of seasoned vagina owners who consistently climax from penetration alone, or you wouldn't know how to find a P-spot or G-spot if it came up and bit you; there's a toy for you! There are some great toys for G-spot and P-spot, which can more consistently "hit" the spot. Aneros makes some of the crème de la crème prostate toys. Aneros Vice is their vibrating option. The toy hugs the prostate, stroking it with each minute contraction of your ass muscles! For G-spot, check out Delight, from Fun Factory. I like it for its soft, round shape, its flexibility, and its short length. Delight is designed to hit the G-spot on 90% of people who own one. Delight is also anal-safe, so it can be used for prostate fun, too.

  4. Extend your play: Go more frequently and last longer. With the power of vibrators, you can still play with a partner without "getting your hands dirty." Sometimes our bodies don't want to be stimulated at the same time that our partners' bodies want to play, but this does not have to be limiting! A dual-stimulator can be a great asset to hand sex for situations like these, offering both penetration and clitoral stimulation. Some toys even thrust for you! With toys like these, you can receive pleasure from a partner even if they don't feel like receiving stimulation at that time - or vice-versa.

  5. Play with desensitized "gens" or hormonal differences. Whether you are someone who struggles with blood flow (as in ED) or you have reduced sensitivity due to hormonal changes, vibrators can be a great tool to bring the pleasure. The vibration of certain toys can encourage blood flow, increasing pleasure. Even if you are someone whose body cannot sustain blood flow to your penis, a vibrator can help; you don't need an erection to have pleasure! A great option for cock play that does not require any erection whatsoever is Hot Octopuss's Pulse collection. Pulse Solo is the basic version. It stimulates the penis with vibration and an oscillating plate that sits under the frenulum. Pulse Duo has an additional vibrating motor on the outside of the toy for partner play - Use it together as a grind-on toy and let the good times roll!

Suction-like toys are also a great option to increase pleasure for body parts that need a little TLC. Womanizer is great for those who have sensitivity concerns. It is not a true vibrator, but instead uses gentle puffs of air to simulate suction. Suction is a great strategy for increasing blood flow, and increased blood flow can make for greater, quicker arousal! It's also a great option for those who have thinner tissues and may not enjoy toys that buzz and shake.

  6. As an accompaniment to penetration: There are some great toys that are designed to be worn during penetrative sex. The most iconic is the WeVibe Sync, a U-shaped toy designed as a hands-free toy to be worn vaginally or anally. It delivers powerful vibrations inside and out, and is compatible with a remote control and an app! Vibrating cock rings are another way to add hassle-free pizzazz to your tab-A-slot-B fun. We love the motor on this one (also from We-Vibe, and compatible with a free app!)

  7. Easily explore new methods of stimulating your body (or your partner's!): There is way more to sex than just the in-and-out; and certain activities, such as solo grinding, are challenging to execute with just bodies, pillows, and sheets. A new and exciting grinding toy is Queen Bee, Hot Octopuss's cock-optional, vulva-compatible spin-off of the Pulse toys. There are also some great thrust-free internal vibes: Rave is designed to be mostly still in the vaginal opening, with an asymmetrical shape that lends really well to gentle G-spot play. Rave can be moved along the inner walls of the vagina or the anus for new and different sensations. This is great for tissues with nerves that respond to pressure or fullness, which can be difficult to stimulate with hands alone.

  8. Spice things up. With vibrators, your list of possible sensations is endless. Remote control toys can incorporate the suspense of putting a partner in control of your pleasure. Some other toys are designed to be heated or cooled. One dual vibrator, Xena Rabbit, warms to body temperature, giving a more natural feel. Where you use the toy can also yield new ways to play: This one can be used as a G-spot stimulator for the wearer. For penis owners, Duke can heighten your pleasure for other activities, stimulating your balls, prostate, and taint.

  9. Take the pressure off your partner to be the sole source of your orgasms/pleasure. This can be particularly helpful if you or your partner are people who gets stuck in your internal monologue during intimacy, or even if you are just someone who could stand to get more comfortable with letting go in front of your partner. Take away the pressure on your partner to be the source of all your pleasure, and ironically, your partner may be more capable of giving you pleasure!

  10. Vibrators can also help you identify what kinds of stimulation your body likes. Through trial and error, you might discover you hate pressure-based stimulation that reaches deep into your prostate or cervix, for example. Or you might find out that buzzy plastic vibes are your one true love. Armed with knowledge from self-exploration, you become more empowered to tell them about what you actually like, and they are more likely to be able to give you an orgasm -- a win-win in my book!

Given all of the ways vibes can come out to play, I definitely recommend giving it a try at least once! If you need direction, to choose a toy visit our store location - Our friendly and informed staff area always happy to help you choose!
