The Best Lube for the (Hand)Job

Stone asks:

What lube would you recommend for handjobs? There's such a bewildering variety of choices--great, right?!--but a few suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Dear Stone:

When it comes to handjobs, and for most skin-on-skin playtime for that matter, I always say the slicker, the better. This is why I recommend using either a silicone lube, or a thicker oil-based lotion.

Silicone lube, such as Uberlube, stays on the surface of your skin, so it lasts what feels like forever, or at least until you wash it off. It never gets sticky, and a little goes a long way. However, keep in mind that if you incorporate any silicone sex toys into your playtime, you should use a different type of lube as silicone-on-silicone can wear down your silicone toy.

Thicker oil-based lotions are also great for handjobs and self-wank sessions. They last a long time, and the rich, creamy texture can feel fantastic as you stroke your bits. Oil-based lotions also moisturize your skin, and lack the greasy feeling some silicone lubes can leave behind. Our customers LOVE the all-natural Men's Pleasure Cream (not just for men, by the way), especially in the tingly mint flavor. The only downfall to oil-based products is they are not latex compatible, so you may want to avoid them if you are using latex condoms, dental dams, etc.

If you want a more universal lube that works with all types of play, you can always go for a water-based lube. In this case, I recommend a thicker lube such as Maximus. Water-based lubes are latex and silicone-toy friendly, and because your skin will absorb it over time, you won't even need to wash it off. This also means that water-based lubes generally do not last as long as the others. Here's a quick tip: when it feels like you skin has absorbed most of the water-based lube, try adding a little tap water or saliva to the area. Water-based = water-soluble, so this should rehydrate the area all on its own.

Happy wanking ;)

One more thing on oil and latex… Because the oil soaks into your skin it can take quite a bit of time for the oil to completely leave your cock, even if you wash it off with soap and water. This means that if you use a condom after using a oil based lube you’ll find it much, much more likely to break. Experience is a hard teacher. :)
